We are making Monteverde into the first electric vehicle (EV) friendly community in Costa Rica and Latin America.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/corclima.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/ruta-electrica-thumbnail-5-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-814 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/corclima.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/ruta-electrica-thumbnail-5-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Support Network<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ruta El\u00e9ctrica Monteverde will be a support network for electric vehicles traveling to Monteverde from different parts of the country. Here they will find a community with expertise on electric mobility that is happy to share electric outlets and vehicle chargers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The Ruta El\u00e9ctrica will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>At least 8 charging stations along each of the roads that arrive in Monteverde from the following cities: San Jos\u00e9, Jac\u00f3, Nosara, Liberia, and La Fortuna.<\/li>\n<li>Different charging options. ICE will offer super-fast and semi-fast charging stations (240V). Restaurants and tourist attractions will allow clients to charge cars with 240V or 120V while enjoying their products and services. This will help to differentiate their businesses.<\/li>\n<li>Information on the location of charging stations available on virtual maps, posters at charging stations, and road signs. Soon we hope that these charging stations will appear on WAZE and Google Maps.<\/li>\n<li>Emergency charging services with portable batteries along the route.<\/li>\n<li>Hotels and other businesses in Monteverde that offer the use of a charger or at least the ability to connect their own to an outlet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5230 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/corclima.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/cargador-ICE.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"207\" height=\"409\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin-top: 40px;\"><strong>Fighting Climate Change<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Ruta El\u00e9ctrica aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. More than 44% pf Costa Rica&#8217;s greenhouse gas emissions come from fossil fuel vehicles.
